The industry standard unit is the cabled drop: one horizontal run from the patch panel or rack to a single work-area outlet, terminated and tested on both ends. Almost everything you quote can be reduced to a per-drop price plus a few fixed line items (rack build, backbone, testing gear mobilization).

Typical all-in per-drop pricing in most U.S. markets runs:

  • CAT-6 drop, standard commercial ceiling, under 200 ft: $125 to $175 per drop
  • CAT-6A drop (heavier cable, tighter bend radius, more labor): $150 to $250 per drop
  • Plenum-rated (CMP) uplift: add $25 to $60 per drop in material alone

Say a tenant wants 24 CAT-6A drops to a new 24-port rack, open T-bar ceiling, single floor, business hours.

  • 24 drops at $185 = $4,440
  • Rack build, patch panel, cable management, terminate 24 ports: $650
  • Firestop at 3 wall penetrations: $180
  • Certification testing, 24 drops, PDF report: $360
  • Mobilization and materials handling: $250
